Our Commitments

PDT (Partido Democrático Trabalhista), Labor Democratic Party - is a political organization of the Brazilian Nation in defense of her interests, her properties, her identity and her integrity. It has its aim to fight - under the framework nationalism and labor - for national sovereignty and Brazilian development as well as for the rights of the Brazilian people and labor conquests, original sources of all goods and wealth, looking forward to a democratic and socialist society.

The party, as an institution, and its members, individually, will act by democratic and peaceful means, even though, when needed, with indignation, vigor and energy, essentially on the lines of the basic commitments:

1) To the Nation and her fighting history for the control of her territory as well as her wealth in order to reach her full development capable of stating her sovereignty and independence;

2) To education, national salvation cause, priority of all priorities; by feeding, sheltering and assisting all children in the country since their mothers’s womb; educating them and giving them full-time schooling without any sort of discrimination;

3) To decent work and health care for all Brazilians;

4) To fair wages for all Brazilians, who also have the right to benefit from their own work;

5) To the defense of public property and national health;

6) To the halt to colonial exploitation to which the country is submitted and the recovery of international losses imposed on our economy;

7) To the rescue of damages and losses caused by concessions to economic groups and privatizations harmful to public interest;

8) To the rationalization and democratization of the Brazilian Federation, having it as a channel for the interests and rights our people;

9) To the reorganization of agriculture around the small and medium property and execution of the land reform;

10) To the increase in production to such level that no Brazilian family will be hungry;

11) To the fight for women, blacks, Indians, youngsters and the elderly’s rights without any kind of discrimination;

12) To the reform of financial system in order to make of it a tool for national development;

13) To the defense of the dignity of civil service, under the ethic’s framework, in order to serve the citizen and give prestige to the civil servant;

14) To the fight to defend Brazilian nature and for a healthy environment in order to preserve the biological base and the self-sustainable development of our country.
